How to Clean Your Home Quickly & Easily
Do you struggle to clean your home? I have compiled my tips you can apply to your cleaning routine to help you be more effective at cleaning your home and make your cleaning jobs be easy and quick to complete to let you get on your way to enjoying the rest of your day.
Clean Your Home Quick & Easy Tips
Set a schedule with a specific room of your home to clean each day of the week. Then, rather than having to have a massive cleaning job on your hand, each day you just tackle one room or specific area of your home. You may choose Master Bedroom for Monday’s and all of your Bathrooms for Tuesdays, or whatever works best for your schedule.
Make a List that includes all the jobs you need to get done in each of the different areas of your home. You will just need to do this once and then you can easily refer back to your list every day to make a mental checklist of the things not to forget. For example, restocking toilet paper is on my bathroom job list so we never run out of extra rolls under the bathroom sink. I created chore cards that I use each week.
Focus on Like Jobs instead of spreading out similar tasks over similar days. Group similar tasks such as cleaning all the bathrooms to one single day. Then, rather than having to work on your Master bathroom the same day as the master bedroom and the other bathrooms grouped with other bedrooms, you can get all the bathrooms done in one day and be ready with all your supplies to take from one bathroom to the next to save you time. We also group jobs like collecting trash from the small cans around our home and dusting.
Group Cleaning Supplies together based on your jobs for each day of the week. Include the extra things you may need such as towels, washcloths, gloves, sponges, or other things that are specific to that days task. You can set up a bucket of supplies for all of your “Monday” jobs so you can quickly and easily pull out your one tub of supplies and be ready to get cleaning without having to dig through your products to find what you need.
Recruit Helpers by assigning certain tasks to your children and/or spouse. Teaching your children how to do certain jobs may feel frustrating at first and that it is taking more time to teach than to just finish the job yourself but investing the time to show your children how to help you with the different cleaning tasks will be an important lesson for them they can carry with them into adulthood and will make cleaning so much faster when you now have a trained helper to take on some of your tasks after a few weeks helping your child learn the ropes. Kids of every age can help with age appropriate chores. Even my 2.5 year old helps by unloading all the kids dishes from the dishwasher.
Be Committed to sticking to your cleaning routine that you set up. Keeping on top of the jobs you need to get done each week will help you to keep your home clean and make each day’s jobs so much simpler by only needed to focus on the tasks that need to get done each day. If you skip a day, you’ll find the job load starts to pile up and can easily become overwhelming. If you have a busy day, at least try to set aside just 30 minutes to power through your list of jobs for the day and do the best you can to complete your tasks.

The gadget does look nice. I doubt I could muster up the energy to clean, even something small, every evening. I wait until the weekend and then delegate. I’m never alone in cleaning.

I love the idea of a set schedule for everyday of the week and sticking to it. I am a firm believer of a list and that would work for me.
I love the idea of grouping supplies for each day. It’s so simple but I think it could help me keep organized.
Simple is usually best, too, whenever I try to get too complicated it doesn’t work out for me.
