5 Items To Stretch Your Daughters Wardrobe

Shopping for little girls can be so much fun. It is so easy to walk into a store and spend a ton of money on clothes for your little lady, especially if she loves cute clothes as much as you do, but when it comes to building a functional wardrobe for your little one, there are a few things you can do to get more bang for your buck. Here are my 5 things you need to stretch your daughter’s wardrobe and get as much use out of their clothes before they are too small or ruined.

I was compensated for this post. All ideas and opinions are my own.

5 Items

Jeans- Investing in some good quality jeans is essential. If you live somewhere hot year round than think jean shorts maybe. But, here in Alaska my kids can wear jeans all year. My kids are tall and skinny so I always have to buy a few sizes up for length, but if they are good jeans they will last a full year. If I go cheap, they always wear out quickly. My daughter loves dresses but her long legs always make them too short, too quickly. I love to throw some skinny jeans under a too short dress to turn it into a tunic!

Rompers- This item might seem like a surprising staple, but hear me out. Rompers are adorable, easy, and surprisingly versatile. Throw them on on a hot summer day and head out the door, right? They are just as cute in the winter with a pair of tights or leggings under and a cardigan on top! My girls wear rompers all year round. They are some of my favorite pieces.

Leggings and Tights– Every skirt, pair or shorts, or romper just became something you can use year round by throwing on one of these essentials underneath. Leggings and tights are available in every color and pattern these days and they are so much fun to use to really make an outfit pop. Plus, they are really affordable so you can have a ton of them without feeling bad.

Skirts- Skirts are so cute and feminine. My little girl wants to wear one everyday, but she freezes during fall and winter. Here is where the legging and tights com into play again. Layer that little lady up! Skirts are super cheap on clearance at the end of the season and they last forever, because when you are throwing leggings under you can let them get shorter than you usually would.

Cardigans- Cardigans are the leggings of the upper body! Any tank, dress, romper, or t-shirt can be worn year round by throwing a cardigan over or a long sleeved shirt under! Both work, but I prefer a cardigan.

Bonus: Fun Accessories!!

Every outfit can be kicked up a notch with a great bow or necklace. The perfect accessory makes me feel pretty and confident and they do the same thing for our little girls!

One of my favorite shops for picking up stuff for my girls is Bailey’s Blossoms. They have a huge selection of items for girls, some stuff for boys, and everything is so affordable! From birthday outfits, to rompers, and even decor, they have something that is absolute perfection for your little one! All of my accessories and both printed rompers for this post came from their shop, and I have my eye on an outfit for my little girl’s first birthday! I suggest checking out Bailey’s Blossoms immediately, I mean how cute is this video!?
