Places to Visit in Florida: SeaWorld Orlando

I received complimentary admission in exchange for this post. All opinions are my own.

On our recent family vacation to Florida, we set aside one day of our trip to visit SeaWorld Orlando. There you’ll find a “zoo” like atmosphere to see lots of sea life creatures as well as awesome animal shows and even some rides and other fun! It’s easily in my top 10 places to visit in Florida!

We started our morning by going to see the dolphin show which also featured acrobatics and gorgeous birds that flew through the audience inches over our heads. This was a great show because of all the variety that kept your interest and wondering what would come next. Dolphins are always a fun animal to watch, too, because they are so playful.

Our other favorite show from the day was watching the whales. SeaWorld Orlando has a new show out that changes things up from the classic “believe” story I’ve seen for years. I loved seeing the baby whale as he did the flips and jumps right along side his mama. He was definitely the highlight of the show for me. The kids laughed and laughed when the whales all splashed and soaked the audience. Since we were safely out of the soak zone, they thought it was hilarious!

We also saw the pets show while we were at the park. While it wasn’t our favorite show, it’s a fun and cute show with a variety of pets that the kids can easily recognize and call out. Our kids really enjoyed seeing all the different household pets — especially the pig!

SeaWorld Orlando Atlantis Ride

If you ask my boys, their favorite part of SeaWorld Orlando, and in fact of our whole trip (if you exclude the daily trips to the pool), they will tell you “the Atlantis ride!!!!” said with way too much enthusiasm. The Atlantis ride takes you down a steep hill with a big splash.

When it rolled around to the early afternoon, we headed to the kid’s area to slow down for a bit and have some time to sit. This area was fantastic! The lines were no longer than waiting for one ride a head of you so we did all of the kids rides in this area, some even more than once. The only ride that had an actual line was for the Shamu coaster which took us about 20 minutes. That line was pretty slow moving, but was my 3 year old son’s first “roller coaster” and his favorite as he was too little for the bigger rides. The children’s area also has an enormous roped climbing area with slides. This was a perfect place for the adults to relax and the kids to let loose and play and then take a break when they needed to.

SeaWorld Orlando

We really had a great time at SeaWorld Orlando! It’s a much slower paced park that a lot of the others in Florida and has tons of shows where you get to see the animals be the star of the park. If you can’t tell from the pictures above, maybe these adorable faces will convince you. SeaWorld was a lot of fun! For more information on SeaWorld or to plan your visit, head to seaworldparks.com. There are three SeaWorld locations: San Diego, Orlando, and San Antonio Texas.
