Spooky Orange Cream Slush and Costumes

I love this time of year!  I love planning out costumes, decorating the house, and eating all the tasty treats this time of year has to offer. Every year I plan a family costume. I am pretty nerdy like that. My son’s first Halloween he was Justin Bieber and me and my husband were super fans (this was back when Justin was adorable and cute), the next year we went as How To Train Your Dragon trainers and my kids were both dragons, last year we went as the Wreck It Ralph crew. I knew this year was going to be a little tricky because both kids are old enough to know what is going on and have an opinion on what we wear. I was determined to keep everyone happy and make it work!

I received compensation for this post, all opinions are my own.

We tried a little bit of everything. My son thought this Seal Commando costume was pretty cool. He also tested out every sword and shield they had to offer, but he was not sold on anything yet.

IMG_0623My little girl loves anything totally girly and fell pretty hard for the princess section. We both thought this unicorn costume was pretty stinking cute, not to mention clever. When she wears it, it looks like she is riding on the unicorn.

After spending quite a bit of time browsing my son decided he was dead set on being a scuba diver. He is obsessed with the ocean and marine animals so this should not have surprised me, but there was no scuba diver to found in the costume section. Lucky for us, Target has everything so after a quick trip around the store we had gathered fins, goggles,  a snorkel, and black pants and shirt for the little mans scuba gear. I just need to make him some air tanks!

Since he was set on being a scuba diver my little lady was over the moon excited to be The Little Mermaid. Looks like daddy will be a scuba diver as well and mom will be a fish! I was so glad it worked out and Target had everything that we needed!

After all that hard work, we deserved a treat! We headed over to the dairy department to pick up some of TruMoo’s Orange Scream milk. Just like regular, TruMoo Orange Scream is made with wholesome low-fat white milk and is brought to you by your trusted local TruMoo dairy with no artificial growth hormones or high fructose corn syrup. It’s a fun treat that both you and your kids can love! Find a local retailer near you using this store locator.

We also grabbed some doughnuts and headed home to whip up our treat before my kids drank all the milk!

Orange Cream Slush

This cream slush will remind you of an orange julius with a little twist! It is so easy to make and my kids thought it was awesome! You will need:

  • 1.5 c. TruMoo Orange Scream Milk
  • 1/8 c sugar (maybe more depending on how sweet you want it)
  • 6 oz orange juice concentrate
  • about 1 to 1.5 cups of ice.

Throw everything in your blender and mix it all up!

Then just enjoy it! It is perfect for a fall evening of fun and could even be made in large batches for your Halloween party!
