Choice Hotels #VacayGoneCrayCray $10,000 Contest

I received compensation for this post. All opinions are my own.

Have you ever had a vacation go completely wrong? Like more than just you forgot your toothbrush wrong. So bad that you wish you could completely redo the whole trip?

My biggest vacation mishap was actually my honeymoon. We were originally going to get married February 10th, so we booked a honeymoon cruise that set sail on February 14th. We ended up moving up our wedding date and tied the knot in December, but still planned to take our honeymoon cruise that following February.

We ended up pregnant right away so morning sickness kicked in the week of our honeymoon cruise and I spent the majority of the trip really tired and with morning sickness. (Yup, we had matching dorky t-shirts and all!)

One evening, we were at dinner on the boat and the menu had all sorts of weird options and seafood, which I don’t like. Being pregnant, I really just wanted a plain and simple pasta dish. I asked my waiter if they could make me up a dish of spaghetti or other pasta. I was told they didn’t have any, which landed me a big balling mess right there at the table. I tell you what, pregnancy hormones are crazy!! They ended up bring me out plain pasta, lol.

  1. I have been pretty lucky in the vacation department. No serious mishaps. Knock on wood. I hope I didn’t just jinx my next vacation!

  2. I’ve never had a vacay gone cray cray but that might have something to do with my constant list making when planning a vacay. With 5 kids and 2 adults, I have a lot organizing to do just to get ready to go anywhere.

  3. Oh yes, I have a vacation that went totally wrong… lost luggage, sick baby, pick-pocketed, rain the entire time (and in a tropical destination). That trip was a nightmare. *cringe*
