A staple snack food for fall is a big ol’ handful of baked pumpkin seeds! If you’ve never made them before, you’ll be surprised by how easy they are to prepare. Just use the leftover “guts” from your carved pumpkin to make this yummy baked pumpkin seeds recipe!
Baked Pumpkin Seeds Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 pumpkin
- Salt
- Olive Oil
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400.
Cut open the top of your pumpkin and remove all seeds.
Place seeds in a strainer and rinse.
Place rinsed seeds in a pan with 2 cups of water and 1 tbs of salt boil for 10 minutes.
Strain water and place seeds on a cookie sheet or in a cast iron skillet.
Coat with olive oil and salt. You can also experiment with different seasoning combos like cinnamon sugar, homemade taco seasoning mix, or go for something savory with a bit of rosemary.
Bake for 20 minutes or until seeds are golden. Enjoy!

pumpkin seeds are my favorite snack! And you can only get the good ones one time of the year...around Halloween. After you bake them yourself! I always tell all my neighbors to not throw away their pumpkin seeds, but to give them to me! I love them! I bake them up and they are the best snack!
