HABA Domino Building Set Review

HABA is a German-based toy company that creates high quality children’s products with a wide range of products from play food to play tents and more! They are most widely known for their quality wood toys that encourage imaginative play without all the technological influences of many of the toys these days.

HABA recently release some great new products that are available now on their website and will be hitting shelves soon (if not already) at your favorite specialty toy retailer. Their newest products include cute clutching toys for babies, wood building sets for kids, and a domino set that incorporates marbles and moving parts!

HABA Domino Building Set Review

We were able to review a Building Blocks Basic Domino’s Pack by HABA. This set includes 87 total pieces including dominoes, wooden blocks, conveyor wheels and clamps, block clamps, metal rods, and marbles to make all sorts of unique configurations!

The domino blocks are absolutely beautiful in a range of blues and greens they are really striking when laid out in a track. The different parts work together to make special tricks that really add a level of excitement to building up a domino track. We started with setting up the suggested tracks outlined in the book, which were a bit hard to follow since the manual came in a different language.

Following the pictures and a few trial and error attempts, we finally got all the pieces figured out and the kids really loved the whole track! The parts were a bit hard to get to work just right. For example, one of the parts lets you knock a marble to roll down a chute and spin a wheel that will set off the next chain of set up dominoes.

It took us about 10 tries and a few of our own adjustments away from the pictures to get this setup to work and even then it was still somewhat hit or miss when we would set off the whole chain of events. Still, when it did work it was really very neat and my boys absolutely loved watching the whole chain of events that included marbles, dominoes, wheels, planks and more!

This dominoes is very high quality and beautiful and provides a lot of creative use and play as you come up with your own ways to use the extra pieces.
