I was able to try out VTech’s Safe & Sound Full Color Video Monitor! I have only ever had a static filled audio monitor in the past and so it was really fun to be able to see my little one at night in his bed. When I first was setting up the camera my kids thought it was so fun to be displayed on the parent unit that they all climbed into my youngest son’s toddler bed to hang out and play. The pictures below where not taken at night or a normal sleeping scenario but I thought they showed well how clear my children were as you can see them right behind my parent unit and then the camera’s angle on the screen.

VTech Safe & Sound Monitor Review

My husband and I both loved “peeking” in on my son and felt like we got a view we would never normally get to see. Had we tried to actually go into his room and peek at him like we were given the view of, he surely would have stirred. I loved being able to monitor the bedroom’s temperature. Another favorite feature was the crystal clear sound output! I was stunned when there was literally silence — no fuzzy, buzzing static sound! Plus, the talk-back intercom was invaluable to calm down my son and gently tell him to climb back into bed and “I love you.” The video monitor is extremely simple to use and we never once had an issue with connecting or finding a signal. I absolutely love that this system can be expanded and think it would be great to add a second camera in my 3 year old son’s room! Now having used a video monitor of such high quality, I don’t think I could ever go back to a standard audio monitor that just doesn’t tell the whole story of what is happening with your child. This is a great camera and very reasonably priced in the video baby monitor market.

The VTech Safe & Sound Full Color Video and Audio Monitor is sold as a single camera and parent unit or can be purchased as a bundle with more than one camera. Individual cameras can also be purchased separately. The single camera set retails for $129.95 on VTech’s website and ships free!

  1. Gee, the things they come up with! I had one of the fuzzy audio monitors when my son was little! I would have LOVED to have had one of these when he was little! Even now would be great! My son is 4 now and plays in his room alot so it would be great to be able to check on him without having to disturb his play!
