5 Ways to Sneak in Veggies

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Tropicana Farmstand for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

Do you have picky kids that turn up their nose to veggies? Here are 5 ways to sneak in veggies! Since they won’t look how the vegetables are traditionally served, you may be able to get them to touch their veggies without even realizing it.

5 Ways to Sneak in Veggies!

Sneak in Veeggies

In a Drink – Most of our kids won’t complain about a glass of juice. It’s a simple way to sneak in a serving of both fruit and vegetables in just a single serving without any complaints! Tropicana Farmstand has a brand new flavor, Tropical Green, that disguises a full serving of both fruit and vegetables with a yummy tropical taste no one will object! The mix uses sweet potatoes, grapes, apples, bananas, mangoes, pineapples, oranges, carrots, limes, kale and spinach to make a juice blend like none other. It’s a great source of vitamins A and C. Best of all, it has no added sugar and uses 100% fruit and vegetable juice!

Tropicana 02185 Puree Them – You can cook and puree any vegetable you’d like just like you would for making homemade baby food. Once it’s pureed, just mix in those veggies with whatever you are already making. You can freeze the excess in an ice cube tray to add them to your future recipes easily. Try adding them in to bread mixes, spaghetti sauce, or make a sauce to top grilled chicken. The options are endless.

Mumi & Bubi Make a Green Smoothie – You would be surprised that adding in something like spinach or kale won’t make a huge difference to the taste of a sweet green smoothie recipe, but it will make a big impact on your family’s health!

Peach Strawberry Green Smoothie Make Veggies Fun – Presentation can go a long way towards getting your children to try a new vegetable. Dice them up and arrange them in unique ways to make them perfectly bite sized and not life threatening. There are lots of bento ideas to add in vegetables to make them look more fun than any other part of the meal.

Under the Sea Lunchbox Keep on Trying – They say it takes several tries for us to acquire a new taste. Don’t get frustrated if your kids refuse broccoli the first few times you try. Instead, stick with it offering vegetables with your meals in different ways with new veggies to keep mealtime interesting. There will inevitably be some vegetables your child simply doesn’t like – and that’s okay! But don’t be afraid to keep trying new ones until you find one they’ll happily gobble down!

  1. I would like to try the strawberry banana the most, although all the combos sound good.

  2. I’d love to try the Tropical Green flavor. I sneak veggies into smoothies and tomato sauce

  3. Great tips! Why didn’t I think of pureeing them to add to meals sneakily? Better idea than trying to bribe my husband with fish scenes. #LOL My daughter LOVES veggies! I’d love to try the Apple Blend, too – looks yummy.

  4. Drinks and smoothies are the only way I can get any kind of vegetable or fruit in my son’s mouth. I’m content with that for now but hope he starts trying more of them in their natural state as he gets a little older.

  5. What great tips and tricks. I haven’t seen that at the grocer yet but will be sure to pick some up when I do

  6. My kids love to eat veggies when they are disguised! Drinks, baked goods and more are easier for them than raw veggies.

  7. Thanks for this great giveaway! I really lucked out. My son has never been overly picky, so I’ve never had to sneak anything good for him. He always just ate it. Yay!

  8. Mostly the only thing I can do is hide them in foods. They have to be pureed. The kids can tell with texture. And they can tell by color a lot of times too so I have to be VERY sneaky with Veggies. We do a lot of juices that have veggies mixed in.

  9. I have to do things like put spinach in smoothies or make stuffed peppers to get my man-child husband to eat any sort of veggie.

  10. Thanks for the tips. My 19 month old grandson has become extremely picky in what he will eat (which isn’t much) so having sneaky ways of adding nutrients is a huge help.

  11. I sneak them in whenever I can. I am the master of sneaking them into pasta sauce and things like quesadillas.
