We travel back and forth between Arizona and Utah a lot, and the drive is so boring. One thing we like to do is wrap up little surprises for our kids and as they are being good along the way we let them open a little surprise. They are usually just dollar store trinkets.
On one such trip I passed my son back a dollar store pack of little animal figurines. I would have never guessed they would be such a huge hit! They got played with so much. However, you typically get what you pay for and after a few weeks they had pretty much had it. They were flimsy and not great quality.

Just last week we were up at the Grand Canyon and just had to come home with the Steam Train TOOB to remember our trip by! It is so cute and the cars even all hook together!
