HOMEMADE GRANOLA BARS
This is a great recipe to do with the kids that is easily altered. I love to spread out all the different ingredients.
You can always add more nuts or seeds, wheat germ, dried fruits or milk chocolate. Perfect for a school snack or a quick breakfast.
Have fun making a different batch each time and enjoy these yummy treats at home or on the go!
HOW TO MAKE HOMEMADE GRANOLA BARS:
Ingredients for cranberry granola bars:
- 2 cups old fashion oats
- 1 cup rice crisp cereal
- 1/2 cup chopped almonds
- 1 cup dried cranberries
- ¼ cup pumpkin seeds
- 3/4 cup white chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1 tbsp butter
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup rice syrup
Instructions for healthy cranberry granola bar:
Line baking pan with parchment or grease with butter.
Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
Mix oats, seeds, and nuts together. Spread out on a baking tray and bake until toasted.
Check every 5 min and stir. This takes 10-20 mins.
Once done put into a large bowl and add rice cereal.
In a saucepan melt the butter over medium heat and stir in sugar, rice syrup, and honey until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool for a minute. (*if you don’t have rice syrup which I used for a vegetarian diet you can substitute 1/2 cup of marshmallows)
Carefully add warm syrup to baked oats mixture and add cranberries and white chocolate chips. Mix until everything is coated.
Pour mixture into prepared pan and press down to even out. Lets set for a few hours before using parchment to remove and cut into squares. Share and enjoy anytime!

Those sound like they're flavorful. With the red and the green in there those bars would be great for Christmas.
