Give Back to Schools with Safeway & Tyson

School is already in session here in Arizona and the fundraising requests have already started. All of our schools really need any extra funding they can get to bring quality learning tools into the classrooms, fund activities, and improve other aspects of the classrooms and campus. I really like to be able to help and donate to my child’s school when I can. Sometimes, all the needs begin to feel overwhelming and it’s hard to donate with every request that comes our way.

Tyson’s chicken can take your school donation one step further! Specially marked Tyson’s products are included in the Tyson Project A+ Program. While shopping for their chicken products, be sure to look for the Project A+ logo. It’s very small, about the size of your thumbnail, so you may have to search the package a bit to find it. When you are finished with your package, you can clip the label and send it into your school. For every label, the school will earn 24¢.

My kids absolutely love chicken nuggets but it’s hard to feel like they are getting a solid meal that gives them the variety they need with a plate of chicken nuggets. Instead, this time I picked up a bag of Tyson’s Any’tizers Popcorn Chicken. These are pretty similar to chicken nuggets but they have a bit different size which was perfect for a few easy dinner recipes I had in mind.

Simple Chicken Salad

I baked up a sheet of the popcorn chicken for dinner. While the chicken was in the oven, I prepared all the salad fixings including lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and apples to give a simple and sweet salad. The chicken takes just 10 minutes to bake so dinner was ready in less than 15 minutes from start to finish. I just tossed in the chicken and then tossed the salad. It served up perfectly with a dab of ranch dressing.

You can enroll your school or search to see if your school is already participating in Tyson’s Project A+ Program by visiting http://projectaplus.tyson.com/. Don’t forget that all of your Safeway Back to School 10% School Donation earnings will accumulate through the shopping time frame. When the program closes, your next receipt will give you full instructions on how to redeem your school donation credit towards the school of your choice.
