Choosing a Weekender Bag

I realized when I became an adult that I didn’t own any luggage. I had always used what my parents had or my backpack.  In the summers I used my dad’s huge Nay rucksack for summer camp. Now, I love luggage, bags, and purses.  I seem to always be looking for the next best weekender or overnight bag.

I received a LeSportsac bag in exchange for this post. Regardless, all opinions are my own.

Choosing a weekender bag

Choosing the right overnight or weekender bag can be super easy, once you decide what’s right for you!

Size and Shape

Weekender bags are traditionally made for just that, the weekend.  They need to be large enough for several changes of clothes as well as toiletries. Weekenders also come in a variety of shapes, like totes, duffelbags and even carry-on type rolling cases.

Material

Weekender bags are made in a ton of different fabrics and materials.  The material you pick will also usually effect the cost of the bag you are looking at.  Leather bags look great, but may have to be pampered. Canvas and nylon bags are very versatile and can come in a ton of different prints.

Color

I recently read that the most stolen color of luggage is black.  The reason? Black is such a color that if someone walks away with your luggage and gets caught they can easily say that they thought it was theirs! Choose a weekender bag in a fun bright color of even a print.

LeSportsac Monster's Inc.

Weekender bags that meet your needs can be found from LeSportsac. And, just in time for Halloween, Le Sportsac has released a frightfully fashionable line of totes, satchels, cosmetic bags and backpacks inspired by Disney∙Pixar’s Monsters, Inc. Available now at Le Sportsac stores and LeSportsac.com, the 14-piece collection features artwork from Harley Jessup, the production designer for beloved Pixar films including Monsters, Inc.RatatouillePresto and Cars 2.

Choosing a weekender bag

I was able to try out the LeSportsac Monster’s Inc large weekender. I fell instantly in love with this bag.  Monster’s Inc. is one of our favorite family movies, and I love all the little shout outs to the movie featured in the print. The bag is spacious, large enough to even carry all of clothes, props, shoes and scripts to rehearsal every night. The front and back pockets are great for slipping in forgotten items or items that need to be easily reached.  The lining of the bag is gorgeous, a rich purple/plum color. One of my favorite features of the bag is that it can be folded up for storage, leaving me more closet space! I just saw that the Monster’s Inc. print is also available for a baby bag, it would be perfect gift for someone expecting their own little “monster.”
