Maleficent is Wicked Summer Fun

I received complimentary admission to see Maleficent. All opinions are my own. 

“Maleficent” explores the untold story of Disney’s most iconic villain from the classic “Sleeping Beauty” and the elements of her betrayal that ultimately turn her pure heart to stone. Driven by revenge and a fierce desire to protect the moors over which she presides, Maleficent cruelly places an irrevocable curse upon the human king’s newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Aurora is caught in the middle of the seething conflict between the forest kingdom she has grown to love and the human kingdom that holds her legacy. Maleficent realizes that Aurora may hold the key to peace in the land and is forced to take drastic actions that will change both worlds forever.

Maleficent is a stunning movie.  Visually, I couldn’t believe how beautiful the movie was.  I was able to see Maleficent in 3D which made the movie truly come to life.  Angelina Jolie was the perfect choice to play Maleficent.  She is gorgeous and you just fall in love with her. Seriously, her eyes are hypnotizing!  I love that she has been making appearances as Maleficent.  I think it shows how connected she is to the character.  After the movie, I made a prediction that Maleficent will be the top Halloween costume this year.  Disneyland is already selling the headpiece.

Everyone that I know that has seen Maleficent has loved it, including teenage boys! My son, who just turned 16, told me he was not expecting to like the movie at all.  It surprised him and it’s one of his favorite movies this year. This version of Sleeping Beauty is a great twist, and a perfect summertime movie!
