American Girl Historical Character 2012 – Meet Caroline!

American Girl released a brand new historical character today – Caroline Abbott! Her story takes place 200 years ago during the War of 1812 and shows girls today how they can stay steady and believe in themselves even during times of struggle, a message that is very appropriate with the tough economic times many are facing. “Caroline, an independent and adventurous nine-year-old girl whose story is set near Lake Ontario during the War of 1812, learns to face her most challenging moments using her heart as her compass. Going above and beyond to help those around her, Caroline gives of herself without expecting anything in return—becoming the kind of real everyday hero that any girl can be.” – American Girl Caroline Press Release

Meet Caroline American Girl Doll

Along with the release of Caroline, 6 new historical books are available as well written by author and social historian Kathleen Ernst. The 18-inch Caroline doll comes with the first book in the series, “Meet Caroline” and dressed in a pretty pink empire-waist dress with a woven floral sash and ruffle trim that are details familiar to her era. With her beautiful waist length blond hair that falls in curls and aquamarine eyes you’ll find a stunning new doll to add to or start your collection!

You can join in the fun of this new Historical Girl release by entering Caroline’s Share the Hero in You video contest!
