5 Steps to a Healthier and Happier Pet

Gunner, my chocolate lab, has been a part of my family for nearly 3 years. Gunner provides my family with snuggles, laughs, and endless entertainment; my two-year-old thinks Gunner is the best thing on this planet. Multiple times a day, my son will follow Gunner around the yard chatting, laughing, digging, tackling, and playing with his best friend. Because Gunner provides my family so much joy, I know that it’s important for Gunner to have a healthy and happy lifestyle. Looking for ways to better cater to your pet’s needs? Take a look at these 5 steps to a healthier and happier pet.

I received multiple samples of Just Right by Purina in exchange for this post. All opinions are my own.聽

5 Steps to a Healthier and Happier Pet

1. Keep your pet active: Exercise is an important part of your pet’s overall health. Find fun ways to incorporate exercise into your furry friend’s daily routine: daily walks, jogs around the neighborhood, a few games of fetch, etc.

2. Give your pet special attention: Just as children need special one-on-one time with parents, pets need to feel like a valued member of the family. Take time each day to give your pet the individual attention they deserve; try playing with a stimulating toy, taking your pet to their favorite park, etc. Playing with your pet will in turn help lift your spirits.

3. Take care of your pet’s grooming needs: It’s important to make sure that your pet is well groomed. This includes brushing their teeth, bathing them, and brushing their coat. Not only will your pet look and feel healthier, but they will love the extra one-on-one time with their pet parent.

4. Be a proactive pet parent: Be sure to stay up to date on all of your pet’s immunizations, yearly exams, and flea/tick prevention.

5. Provide your pet with proper nutrition: Proper nutrition is key to your pet’s health. Just as every pet has their own personality, they also have individual nutritional needs. Thankfully, Just Right by Purina provides your dog with personalized food to best support their nutritional needs.

Creating the perfect food for your dog is super simple yet extremely beneficial. To start, all you have to do is log onto Just Right by Purina and create your pet’s profile. Answering questions based on your dog’s weight, lifestyle, activity, skin, coat, etc, a blend recommendation is provided. You are also able to choose the first ingredient (chicken, salmon, or lamb) as well as whether or not you’d like to include grains or soy. After purchasing your dog’s personalized blend online, the food is shipped from the website to your home free of charge. How cool is that?

Gunner is quite smitten with his chicken blend from Just Right by Purina. In fact, I’ve never seen him so excited for mealtime. Every evening around 8pm, he runs to me wagging his tail anticipating feeding time. As I pour him his Just Right by Purina, he devours this delicious blend in a matter of minutes. Not only does Gunner thoroughly enjoy the taste, but the nutritional benefits are incredible – his breath smells better, he has more energy, and his coat is shinier.
