5-Minute Curls

I have three kids under the age of 5. Getting us all out the door on time can be tough. I had friends swear by this method and I didn’t believe them. Biggest. Mistake. Ever. This method provides you beautiful beach waves that last all day and only take a few minutes. It is a game changer. Trust me. As much as I love the mom bun, and I swear by it, it feels so good to have another stress free option for busy days! These 5-minute curls are so easy.

5 minute curls - with no heat and no stress! Perfect, curly hair with next to no effort! This beauty hack has completely changed my morning routine! DIY hairstyles for short or long hair - you're going to love this no heat curls trick!

Start with dry hair. Nothing fancy. I throw some root lifter in because I have lots of fine hair. Once your hair is completely dry, you are ready to begin. Keep in mind I shot these pictures in real time, so no make up for the first round! Be nice!

Place a soft head band around your head. I have also used a knee high sock, tied in a knot, in a pinch. Works like a charm.

Wrap section of hair from under the headband around the top towards the back of your head. Continue until all of your hair is wrapped around your headband. The tighter you wrap your hair, the tighter the curls. I keep mine somewhat loose, but remember that your curls will loosen a little as they relax after you remove the headband. So, lean towards tighter until you get a feel for where you like it.

Now finish getting ready. Do your make-up, get dressed, get the kids ready, eat breakfast, anything you need to do! Make sure you leave it on at least 20-30 minutes.

Remove the headband. Your curls will be pretty bouncy and tight. I spray mine with hairspray and scrunch, then I finger comb through them.

That’s it! The perfect everyday curls. They work with longer lengths of hair too! Save yourself some stress and give it a shot. I will never look back!

Have you ever tried this method?

  2. When I saw the headline, I thought you were talking about working out at the gym. Then I read your post and realized you were actually talking about HAIRSTYLING. My hair is similar in length and texture to yours and I just love your idea of curling it so easily in just 5 minutes without a curling iron or rollers.

  9. My wife just cut her hair really short because she hated all the time it took to curl it. Maybe if I could have shown her this in advance she could have saved those beautiful locks!

  10. This is such a fun and easy way to get bouncy curls! My hair is naturally curly, so this wouldn’t work for me, but I’m going to show my daughter. She is always trying to make her hair curl, and with a new baby, she doesn’t have much time to spend on it.

  11. I do something similar with a scrunchy ponytail knotted around my hair, although my hair is so fine that it the curls only last for about 1 hour before they fall flat 馃檨
