There are countless things that I love about winter: hot chocolate, snow, sledding, Christmas, winter sports, etc. Although this cool weather brings an abundance of exciting activities, it also brings dry and itchy skin. Experiencing that annoying “winter itch?” Keep your skin healthy during these cool months with these rejuvenating winter skincare tips.

I received samples and compensation in exchange for this post. All opinions are my own.

Drink plenty of water: Dehydration often reflects in your skin. To help heal your dry winter skin, make sure that you’re consuming at least 8 glasses of water a day.

Consume healthy foods: Eat foods that are high in omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants, and collagen: avocados, nuts, fish, spinach, blueberries, carrots, etc. Cut back on the caffeine and drink more water.

Apply sunscreen: Although winter brings cooler weather, it’s still important to protect your skin from any sun damage. Before exposing your skin to the sun, be sure to apply a sunscreen with an SPF of (at least) 30. If you have a hard time remembering to apply sunscreen before heading outdoors, use a daily moisturizer that includes sunscreen.

Use a humidifier: Help your skin soak in added moisture while you sleep by using a humidifier.

Apply steroid-free itch relief: In order to combat dry winter skin, it’s important to use a steroid-free solutions. Thankfully, Tricalm is here to help with your dry skin issues.
