Lemon Berry Crunch Cupcakes with Kix
Have you seen these adorable Kix boxes while browsing the aisles at your local Target?

I received compensation and samples for this post, all opinions are my own.
These new story boxes from Kix are so much fun. Each box features a cast of characters that you pop out of the box and build. These cute characters pair up with a couple of interactive stories that you can find here. Your kids will love interacting with the characters they have built! No need to stop there. You can continue to create with your pop out pieces to create your own characters and stories, and they provide you with endless amounts of fun!
My kids loved this activity so much that they wanted to share it with their friends! We had a small group of friends over to build the characters from the Berry Berry Kix Ocean Box. All the kids had a blast, but of course needed a treat to follow up all the fun, so I whipped up these Lemon Berry Crunch Cupcakes.

You will need:
A box of lemon cake mix
Cream Cheese Frosting
1 cup of Berry Berry Kix
For Toppers:
Berry Berry Kix Ocean Story Box
Toothpicks
Hot glue Gun
Start by whipping up your batter and getting those cakes in the oven. Of course you can use your favorite recipe and make them from scratch, but I was short on time and looking for a quick, easy treat. While those are cooking, go ahead and make your toppers.
To make your toppers punch out all the animals from the Kix box. Then simply hot glue them to the top of your toothpick. Easy right?
Once your cupcakes are cooled, pipe or spread on your frosting. Put your cup of cereal in a Ziploc bag and crush the it with a rolling pin. Sprinkle the top of your cupcakes with the cereal. I love the flavor and crutch the it gives to the cupcakes! Add your topper on top and watch those kiddos squeal!

My kids thought it was so much fun to choose their favorite character from the Story Box stories to share their treat with! Of course those toppers make great little puppets once you are done eating your treat!
The possibilities for fun with these boxes are endless! Remember that the Kix Story Box cereal boxes are only available at your local Target store. Grab a few while you are out and about, your kids will thank you for it and you will love sharing the creative fun with them here.
