Feeding Your Baby Breast Milk or Formula? Your Choice.
Becoming a mom is one of the biggest decisions you will ever make. But, it is just the first of many, many big decisions as a parent. What kind of diapers will they wear? What time will they go to bed? Swaddle or no swaddle? Co-sleep or straight to crib? It can really be overwhelming. But the biggest question, or at least the first one is breast milk or formula?
I received compensation and samples for this post. All opinions and ideas are my own.

When did this turn into such a heated topic? I am not here to debate either side. I firmly believe that as mothers we do the everything we can to provide what is best for ourselves and our families. For some that looks like exclusively breastfed babies, for others it is formula, and still others do a combination of the two. Whatever you have decided to do for your baby, give yourself a high five. Great choice mama! No matter what you have decided, the next decision will be what kind of bottle you want to use. Even if you are exclusively breastfeeding your babe, chances are you are going to need to pump and give them a bottle at some point.

There a so many choices out there, but my little girl is loving the Philips Avent Classic+ Bottle. It has so many great features that make feedings run smoothly. She has so many things she loves about it. She just told me yesterday that their anti-colic system has been integrated all the way into the nipple. It contains a unique valve that opens and let air into the bottle instead of her tummy. It reduces fussiness, especially at bedtime, and it allows her to control the flow reducing overeating, gas and burping. Plus, it is easy to clean and easy to hold making it a win from my end as well.
I breastfeed my baby, but knowing that she can still have a happy eating experience when I am away brings me so much peace of mind. The Philips Avent Classic+ Bottle has been great for our family. It is the bottle she eats best from, and babies know best! We took a Polaroid Cube Camera and strapped it to the top of her favorite bottle to really capture just how easy eating is with Philips Avent. In fact all of the photos from this post were captured with this handy little camera. Turns out when you strap a camera to my baby’s bottle she really wants to play with it! Check it out:
Kinda fun to see what it all looks like from your baby’s point of view! That is one happy and content babe, well if she could just get her hands on that camera! Want to try one of these amazing bottles for yourself? Philips Avent is offering a free bottle to the first 25 people to comment on this post requesting one! How cool is that!?

At the end of the day our goal as parents is to have a happy healthy baby. Philips Avent is here to help support you in your feeding decisions, no matter which route you decided to take. Try out their awesome bottles today!

Whatever makes mama and baby happy is good for me! I did a mix of both, but breastfeeding didn’t come easy.
very cool 🙂 I’m not one of the first 25 but it’s a neat offer. With our first, I’m going to try my darndest to breastfeed but I think there will be a lot of pumping + bottle feeding
i want a free bottle!
Each Mom needs to decide for herself what works best for her and baby. I have never used the Philips Avent bottles but look like good ones.
Oh wow, I’d love to try one of their bottles! I’m pregnant with out first and plan to breastfeed but will be pumping as well. I love that their bottles have an anti-colic system!
Aww, so cute to see her feed so excitedly! I used bottle similar to these when my three were little.
Such a personal choice. These bottles are wonderful! Would love to have one for my little one.
formula or breastmilk? whatever is best for your child should be your choice
I exclusively pumped and hated every minute of it but did it because thats what was best for our son. Each person is different and judging isn’t nice 🙂
I have only a little bit of breastmilk but he stopped taking the breast bc he went into the nicu. I still pump and i use advent bottle to feed him whatever i can make. He’s mostly on formula bc he’sa big eater lol
It’s actually up to the parent. The most we can do is respect their decision. Whatever it is, I’m sure it’s for the best.
The most important thing is to respect a mom’s decision! You don’t know all the factors that go into it, so don’t judge!
would love to try this with baby coming any day now.
I am currently breastfeeding exclusively.I recently tried to offer formula but baby refused.I would love to try to bottle feed:)
I love that their easy to clean and it reduces colic.
A fed baby is a happy one, always my opinion. Either decision it is a long journey mentally, emotionally and physically. Would love to try out the Avent bottle!
Breastfeed! With my first he wouldn’t take a bottle and he nursed for 2.5 years. I would love to try one of these bottles. Hopefully with my little girl on the way I can pump and she Will take it. I am at a loss with bottles! ! Lol
I breastfeed and bottle fed. I think its a personal choice.
It is sad to see it be such a heated debate, I feel every mother knows what is best for her child. I do not breast feed but I fully support those that do.
I think it’s a personal choice that should be up to the parent and their child. What I do may not work best for you!
I was not able to breastfeed my first child. I had a difficult delivery and recovery. My body just did not produce milk. He was bottle fed with no issues. When i had my Daughter i decided to try again. I was successful at nursing her for over a year.
Have an easy to hold bottle is great. And whether someone breastfeeds or bottlefeeds is definitely a personal decision.
I breastfed my first and my second weaned herself at 5 months. Advent bottles sound like a great choice. They seem like they are super easy grip!
These bottles are awesome. I love that they’re designed to release gas!
I agree that every mom should do everything they can to provide what is best for their family. No need for a debate!
I did breastfeeding but I used Avent bottles for what I pumped. We loved them!
My baby days are over but, I have heard amazing things about these bottles. I love how you say that it is your choice to BF or bottle feed. So true.
My cousin was unable to breastfeed and tried several bottles. Her baby seems to really enjoy these.
I think it is a personal choice for each person and they need to do what is right for their child. No ones your child better than you!
With 3 kids, I was able to only breastfeed one of them. I think this is such a personal choice.
Whether you breast feed or bottle feed, you’re going to need a bottle at some point. These look great. I love that easy to hold design.
Nope, lots of babies refuse bottles (or are never offered one) and go straight to sippy cups or regular cups as they start drinking other liquids like cow’s milk or water. Some babies drink breast milk or formula from a sippy cup starting at younger ages like 6 months.
I know that if you do have a baby that refuses bottles, or you’re unable to pump, or just don’t want to offer bottles, (I’ve been in all 3 situations) it can be discouraging to have others like relatives or the church nursery, think that something is wrong and that your baby “needs” a bottle.
This product looks nice though, especially that the baby can control how fast it flows.
I love the shape of this bottle. It seems like it’s very easy for a baby to hold on to it.
I think theres not a right or wrong choice. Each mom has to do what they need to do.
There is no battle. It’s is a COMPLETELY individual decision and there is no right and wrong.
