With 5 children and only one employed person in our house, sometimes budgeting leaves us a bit tight in the old finance department. During those times, I turn to cheap menu ideas, including one of my kid’s favorite things to eat: Ramen. Ramen Noodles are super cheap and really easy to make. There are many ways to serve Ramen, just give Pinterest a try and you will see the many options that this versatile noodle gives us. Here are a couple ideas that I found:
- Ramen Coleslaw – updating a classic taste and giving it a bit of a crunch!
- Ramen Stirfry – classic Asian flavors and vegetables, soft fluffy Ramen noodles.
- Spicy and Sweet Ramen Noodle Snack Mix – Add broken un-cooked Ramen to a party mix.
- Chocolate Covered Ramen – This one is my favorite. Un-Cooked Ramen dipped in chocolate.
Cheesy Noodles Ramen Recipe
My family’s favorite is what my kids call “Cheesy Noodles.” It’s a quick and easy meal that feeds a crowd for a low price. The most expensive thing is the hamburger. In a pinch, we make it without the hamburger, and it’s still yummy.
- 1 pound of ground beef
- 4 packs of Ramen Noodles (Or any pasta you have on hand)
- 2 small cans of tomato sauce
- 1 cup of cheddar cheese
- salt and pepper
- Brown ground beef, drain. While browning beef, cook noodles (discarding flavor packets for Ramen) and drain. Return noodles to pot, add ground beef and cheese. Stir until cheese has melted. Add tomato sauce, stir until combined.
- Salt and pepper to taste.
What is your favorite way to use Ramen?

My favorite way to eat ramen is as a soup! My daughter loves it with just a little cheese melted on top.

Wow this looks really good. I will have to try this recipe. My kids also love Ramen noodles. They love when I add an egg to the mix. It makes it like a stir fry noodle.
