Falling In Love Story!

There is nothing so good or so sweet as falling in love! My husband and I met in such an incredibly unexpected way that it’s always really fun to share our “How We Met” story. My aunt is a travel agent and had set up a Caribbean cruise of which my parents and my husband’s aunt both booked. When some unfortunate events came up a few passengers had to back out of the cruise the week before it was to depart and needed fill-in’s for the cruise. My husband, Danny, and I both ended up booking the cruise one week before it was to depart through my aunt, never having met before. All of the cruise passengers that had booked the trip through my aunt as the travel agent met at a hotel the night before. We were all able to meet some of the passengers we didn’t know and caught up with old friends and family we hadn’t seen recently. Danny came down into the lobby and saw me and later told me that, “I knew I was going to marry you the second I saw you.”

Falling In Love Story! Engagement Pictures 339 Medium

We spent some time together on the cruise, but not a whole lot as we had different excursions booked for the on-shore days. We would catch up and play card games together during the afternoons on ship days and did spend a day snorkeling together at one of the ports. By the end of the cruise we were friend and I didn’t think much of it at that point. Danny ended up chasing me across the country to date me and eventually win me over. We talked nightly and he even drove 18 hours (each way) to take me out on a couple of dates when I was off at school. Eventually we moved to the same state and we were able to really date and fall in love. We have now been married for over 6 years and our love has only grown! Above is one of our engagement pictures, unfortunately we don’t have any pictures of us together on the cruise.

My unexpected life events were not even the birth of my own,  meeting my husband or gong back to school as an adult mom...it is the complete awe and wonder of being present when two of my daughters gave birth. To witness that strength and determination and the instant Mother Love, it's  just so inspiring and brings you back to your own experience. No matter how a child comes into the world, no matter if planned or anticipated for years...they are all miracles!
