I contacted Fresh Baby to see if I could review their “So Easy Toddler Food” Cookbook. I first flipped through to the recipes to see if there was one we could make for lunch that day. I had leftover ham I need to use up and Homemade Macaroni sounded great so we made that! 🙂 The recipe was very easy to follow and it turned out great! My son could help me cook it by adding the ingredients and helping to stir and he really enjoyed being included! The kids scarfed it down and my 3 year old even asked for seconds!! He is typically a picky eater and eats half of what my 18 month old eats!
I also loved all the informative tips and guides helping me learn about the importance of toddler food nutrition. There is so much useful information in this book!! One of my favorite tips was that sometimes a child will need to see a new food on their plate up to *10* times before being willing to try it!! So to just keep encouraging new/different foods and to not give up!! This book suggested to try new foods when they are most hungry and encouraging just “trying” the food, not needing to eat the full portion when introducing something. Also, talking about the foods they are eating and letting them help you shop for them at the grocery store makes the fruit/vegetable more familiar to them. It also teaches about alternative snacks to have ready to go so you don’t resort to bad snacking and tons of tricks for healthy eating and lifestyles throughout the day!
