Sweet orange creme cinnamon rolls! Adding orange juice to the dough and icing makes these cinnamon rolls sweet and a great change of pace. Perfect breakfast or brunch for a special occasion.

Ingredients:
  • 1 packet active dry yeast (2 ¼ tsp)
  • ½ cup warm orange juice
  • ⅓ cup butter
  • ⅓ cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp orange zest
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 cups flour
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp cinnamon
Orange Creme Icing:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp orange juice
Directions:
  1. Stir together yeast and orange juice vigorously in a bowl, then let sit 5 minutes until bubbly.
  2. Beat in sugar, eggs, butter, and orange zest with a stand or electric mixer until well blended.
  3. One cup at a time, add in flour while stirring by hand. Knead a bit to form it into a ball.
  4. Rub a bit of oil around the surface, place back in the bowl, cover, and let sit in a warm spot for 1 hour.
  5. Roll out your dough into a large rectangle, mix your brown sugar and cinnamon together, and sprinkle a layer on top of your dough sheet.
  6. Roll up tightly starting from the longest side, then cut into 1-inch pieces with a serrated knife using a sawing motion.
  7. Place in a baking dish, making sure to leave 1 inch space between.
  8. Cover and let rise again for 15 minutes, then bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
  9. Once fully cooked, whisk together 1 cup powdered sugar with 1 tbsp orange juice to make your icing, and drizzle on top.
