I received an assortment of Peeps samples in exchange for this post. All opinions are my own.
We love Peeps in our house! Nothing makes it feel like Easter more than seeing Peeps. My husband is very particular about his treats. He doesn’t like most goodies, candy, and treats. However, he LOVES Peeps! He seriously can’t get enough of them. So this year, I decided to make some fun Easter Peeps Treat!
I started with an assortment of Peeps in different colors and a variety of other ingredients to make these two easy Easter Peeps treats.
PEEPS Kabobs
- Peeps
- Chocolate Chips
- Sprinkles
- Kabob Skewers
Start by soaking your kabob skewers in cold water. You want your skewers wet so the marshmallow Peeps won’t stick to the skewers as you slide. This won’t affect the taste of the Peeps.
Lay out your Peeps on a cutting board.
Melt 1/2 cup of Chocolate chips in the microwave heating at 30 second intervals, stirring between each until fully melted. Be careful to not overcook your chocolate.
Add your melted chocolate to a sandwich ziploc bag. Spoon it into the corner of your baggie and press all the air out of the baggie. Cut off the tip of the ziploc bag and gently squeeze at the bag of your chocolate bag while slowly moving your baggie back and forth creating lines of chocolate across the peeps. You can also add a small line of chocolate at the ears to decorate the bunny ears.
Shake an assortment of sprinkles, if desired, while your chocolate is still warm and it will harden with your chocolate. The sprinkles look really cute on the ears.
Peeps Krispie Treats
- Peeps
- 6 cups Rice Krispies
- 1 package Marshmallows
- 3 Tablespoons butter
- Colorful mini marshmallows (optional)
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Start by chopping up a half package of Peep into about 1/2″ pieces. You’ll add these to your Krispie treats mix in a bit.
Prepare your Krispie treats by melting your butter in the microwave for 30 seconds, or until melted. Add in your marshmallows an mix to coat the marshmallows in butter. Return your bowl the microwave and cook in 45-second intervals, stirring between each until your marshmallows are melted.
Once melted, add in a small handful of colorful miniature marshmallows (optional) and rice krispies, mixing together. You don’t want your colorful marshmallows heated with the others as the colors will swirl together. Adding them with the cereal will keep them a bit more solid. Add in your coarsely chopped peeps, mixing them in evenly in your mixture.
Melt 1/2 cup chocolate chips in the microwave in 30-second intervals, mixing between each heating until melted. Scoop the melted chocolate into the tip of a sandwich size ziploc bag. Cut off the tip of the baggie.
Apply pressure at the back of the baggie while moving the bag slowly back an forth to spread lines of chocolate across your Peeps and treats. The chocolate will harden as it cools.
You might notice above, the color and fun in the side of the krispie treats from the coarsely chopped Peeps you added into the mix. The extra marshmallows will make these treats so tasty!
You can find Peeps at your favorite local grocery store. Peep also has an online store and they deliver the freshest, softest Peep I’ve ever had!
