Sugar Free Raspberry Lemonade

Nothing cools you off in hot temperatures like a nice tall glass of lemonade.  Unfortunately most varieties are very high in sugar and tough on those of us watching our sugar and calorie intake.  This Sugar Free Raspberry Lemonade recipe is a lightened version that provides a flavor you crave without the added calories.  While it is defined sugar free, it does contain honey.  If you are sensitive to blood sugar spikes when eating honey, you may want to adapt using an alternate sweetener like Splenda or Truvia instead.

Ingredients:

  • 2 Cups Fresh Squeeze Lemon Juice
  • 2 Cups Fresh Raspberries, divided
  • ½ Cup Organic Raw Honey
  • 6 Cups Water

DIRECTIONS

In blender, blend together 1 cup raspberries, honey and 2 cups water until smooth. (Strain the seeds at this point, if you would like)

Pour into pitcher and mix along with lemon juice and remaining water

Add in remaining sliced raspberries and chill until ready to serve.

*Make a double batch of the raspberry puree and make ice cubes in advance to toss in and help chill without watering down.

We love having something yummy cold in the fridge to drink on hot days and this sugar free raspberry Lemonade is one that I don’t feel guilty giving my kids.  The natural sweetness of the raspberries (make sure to use really ripe ones) and the honey make this a sweet and yummy treat everyone in your family will love to drink.  Perfect for special lunchtime drinks or an afternoon poolside.

Wow this sounds really good. I am trying to cut our families sugar intake down. So this will be perfect for us to try. It is so hard to find food and drinks that have no sugar. I am shocked by all the products that have sugar. Thanks!

Since my son and his wife are both type 1 diabetics I am always looking for alternatives to diet soda. I would use Splenda because the honey would spike their sugar levels. Thanks for sharing!

Honey sometimes is hard to dissolve in cold water. Do you put a bit in warm water first?

We don't eat refined sugar in our house, so I am excited to try this recipe!
