Milkshakes are a super quick and easy and really yummy treat that can help you stay cool this summer. They take just three ingredients and you can customize your creation to be just as fruity or more creamy tasting depending on your personal tastes and ingredient ratios. I’ll share our basic recipe, but really you simply throw in a bit of this, a bit of that, with no real measuring required.
Strawberry Milkshake Recipe
To make a strawberry milkshake, scoop three large scoops of ice cream, a cup of milk, and six strawberries with their leaves removed into your blender. If you have a picky blender, make sure you put liquids first, solids second, and any frozen ingredients last. Our blender is really powerful so we throw them into the blender in whatever order. If your blender is at all struggling to blend it simply means you need a bit more liquid to get all the ingredients moving. Blend until smooth and enjoy! This will make two tall glass servings.
Banana Milkshake Recipe
Making banana milkshakes are almost identical to the strawberry milkshake recipe above. Simply swap out the strawberry add-in with a whole banana and don’t forget your ice cream and milk and blend! The blender full above we only were making a single serving but still used the whole banana so the second half didn’t go to waste. No worries, though, it will just give you a bit stronger banana flavor. The best bananas to use are yellow bananas with some freckle spots as those are perfectly ripe bananas.
- Vanilla Ice Cream
- Milk (2% or Whole is best)
- Strawberries or Banana
- Add a cup of milk to your blender.
- Next, put in six whole strawberries with the leaves removed or a whole banana.
- Finally, add in 3 big scoops of vanilla ice cream and blend.
You can easily make whatever your favorite milkshake recipe is by swapping out the fruit in the recipe above and adding in your own favorite ingredient. You can make simple vanilla milkshakes by leaving out the fruit and just adding a tsp or less of vanilla extract and a few spoonfuls of sugar. Or, make it an oreo milkshake recipe by adding in a few oreos!
What is your favorite milkshake recipe or add-in?

Sounds quite delicious, I love my Blendtec, I haven't tried making a milkshake in it yet though.
