Interview with Bachelorette Trista Sutter

I received compensation for this post. All opinions are my own.

Summer is quickly approaching, in fact the first day of summer is just over a month away on June 21st! Schools are already wrapping up here in Phoenix, my boys are on their final countdown of days left of school with less than two weeks left! We just blew up our kiddie pool as the weather is warm enough already to enjoy cool water. Getting outside with my kids makes us all feel Playful!

Along with the start of summer comes National Get Outdoors Day, this year it will be held on June 14th. Cities all across the nation will be participating and you can join in on the fun or plan your own outdoor activities for that weekend. NationalGetOutdoorsDay.org can help you find what is happening near you. I have three fun Outdoors Day activities near me here in Arizona.

Interview with Bachelorette Trista Sutter

Trista Sutter Interview

To gear up and get excited about getting outdoors this summer, I had a chance to interview Trista Sutter on all things related to The Bachelor, Summertime, and her new book!

Trista Sutter, was the very first Bachelorette and the first love story that led to a wedding following the show. She is still happily married and now the mother of two kids that are 7 & 5. Their family loves to get outdoors in beautiful Colorado. Trista is also an author, her first book was released late last year: Happily Ever After: The Life-Changing Power of a Grateful Heart.

Q: Do you watch the Bachlorette and if so, have you had a favorite season?

A: Trista confirmed, she is a lifetime fan of the Bachelor/Bachlorette. She doesn’t have a favorite because, as she put it, that would be like picking a favorite child. She feels very motherly towards all the participants, and is close friends with most of them especially the Bachlorettes.

Q: Do you have any advice for Andi, the next Bachlorette?

A: “Enjoy it! It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity! Be honest with yourself and the men/women involved. Really try to take advantage of any down time you have.”

Q: What has surprised you about motherhood?

A: “How tired I would be, how hard it is, but also how much I love it!”

Q: How do you keep your kids entertained and active during the summer?

A: Trista said her family loves the outdoors and it’s not hard to get them outdoors and active. The kids enjoy summer camps and will be doing a fairy camp and a sports camp this summer. For getting outdoors and active as a family they enjoy biking, fishing, playing at the park. “Camping together is tops on the list. Hiking, too, obviously we have lots of hiking. We’ll be enjoying lots of that this summer.”

Q: How do you keep a grateful attitude on days when your patience runs thin?

A: “The most important time to find gratitude is in those most difficult times because that’s how you get through them. Realize they are a blessing, even when it’s hard.”

Get Outdoors this Summer

Just this past weekend my husband and boys took off camping on the Father & Sons camping trip they do ever year! They had a really fun time and got to try bow & arrow shooting for the first time with the boy scouts that came along. Isn’t this just a perfect picture of what summer time should look like? Being in the great outdoors enjoying time together and being active?

When you get outdoors this summer, OFF! has innovative products that helps keep the bugs away while you’re enjoying your time outdoors. Trista recommended two OFF! products that are great for families that have worked well for their family.

  • OFF! Botanicals Towelettes that make applying bug protection more fun! It uses a plant-based repellent in an easy to apply towelette that has a light, clean fragrance. The coverage lasts up to two hours before you should reapply or after vigorious activity, toweling, or swimming.
  • OFF! Clip-On Mosquito Repellent is a clip-on solution that lets you enjoy up to 12 hours of protection by wearing a small, quiet battery-powered fan that circulates an odorless protection. You can clip this product right to your kids belt loop, no spray required!

PLEASE NOTE THAT SINCE THESE PRODUCTS ARE REGISTERED WITH THE U.S. ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY, IT IS A VIOLATION OF FEDERAL LAW TO USE THESE PRODUCTS IN ANY WAY OTHER THAN DIRECTED ON THE LABEL. PLEASE ENSURE YOU READ THE LABEL THROUGHLY BEFORE TRYING THE PRODUCT
