How to Escape Holiday Drama #enjoythego

The holidays are such a fun-filled, magical time. With all that fun comes a lot of work. Isn’t it funny how once you become an adult your realize just how much was going on behind the scenes of your childhood to make all that magic happen? With the traditions, the shopping, the school performances, the cards, the family get togethers… come the week before christmas, most adults are pretty worn out. After spending all day getting ready to host the holiday get together, you might just feel too overwhelmed to enjoy it! You know what you need? A break!

I received samples and compensation for this post, all ideas and opinions are my own.

Maybe you are tired of small talk, maybe you can’t remember your husband’s second-cousin’s wife’s sister’s name, maybe you are avoiding an argument, or maybe you just don’t want to help with dishes (am I right?), and maybe you just need a few minutes to re-group! Take a page out of your husband’s book and slip away to the one place NO ONE is allowed to bother you: the bathroom.

Not just any old bathroom, but the sanctuary you have prepared for just this occasion. Here is everything you need to prepare the perfect oasis to escape to:

A candle or scent warmer- I mean, it is a bathroom so make sure this one smells nice! I use a scent warmer for convenience, makes it easy to switch up scents.

Reading material- A great magazine will give you something to take your mind off of everything else going on. Pick a few favorites to stack in a basket or corner.

Luxurious hand soap/lotion- I love a light scent with great moisturizers. A lotion for extra softness goes a long way in helping me relax and unwind in the middle of all the holiday drama.

Plush Hand Towel- No one likes a scratchy towel. Plush hand towel automatically upgrade your bathroom from run of the mill to holiday sanctuary.

Charmin- When it all boils down, the best thing you can add to your bathroom is high quality toilet paper, and lots of it. Just imagine escaping to the bathroom only to find your are out of TP! It seems like a no brainer, but you never know how much your guests will need before you get a chance to escape! 1 Charmin Mega Roll = 4 regular Charmin rolls.

I always make sure that my house is fully stocked with Charmin Ultra Soft Mega Roll Toilet Paper. It is Softer and 75% more absorbent and you can use less vs. the leading bargain brand. With kids around, I am always a fan of using less to get the job done!

Whether you prefer the soft, cushiony, absorbent Charmin Ultra Soft Mega Roll, like my family, or the strength of the Charmin Ultra Strong Mega Roll, know that you can still enjoy your favorite Charmin Toilet Paper, just more of it per roll! More convenient, more value,  more long-lasting “go’s” per roll* so you can change the roll less often.

In the midst of all the wonderful holiday chaos, Charmin Mega Rolls truly are the gift that keeps on giving.

I would love to hear about the time you needed to escape during the holidays, tell me in the comments!

I just got a scent warmer for our Anniversary. I just stay in my happy place in my mind despite some not so happy people out and about aggressively shopping. Being organized and remembering what the season is about goes a long way.

When I felt overwhelmed with everything that still had to be done, but I finally realized if it's doesn't get done, it's ok. Taking a time out, reflecting & realizing what's truly important makes you realize how those little details don't really matter in the scheme of things.

Such great tips! Aromatherapy is my go-to to relax and stay centered.

Oh how true this all is! As I type this I'm getting my escape for a few moments - from the "when are we going to grandma's for Christmas dinner?" questions - that I've answered 29.7 million times in the last week! :D
