Flatout Hungry Girl Foldit Flatbread Sandwich Recipes!

Flatout Flatbread has partnered with Hungry Girl with a great new flatbread product – Foldit Flatbread! These are a really fun design playing off a pocket style sandwich but making it so much easier to assemble! They can also be used for other fun recipe ideas like homemade pizzas, quesadillas, or whatever else you can come up with! I had the challenge to visit my local Walgreens in search of the new Hungry Girl Foldit Flatbread products as well as other ingredients to create two recipes. Walgreens had every ingredient I needed and I was in and out in just about 5 minutes!

The challenge was to create two recipes – one hot and one cold. We are always looking for easy sandwiches that mix it up a bit and don’t feel like the same old lunch day after day so we decided to stick to sandwiches for our recipes. Hopefully, you’ll love these recipes too and can add in some variety to your own weekday lunches!

Some Like It Hot: Tuna Melt

Faltout Hungry Girl Foldit Flatbread

If you love heated sandwiches that are simple and quick, and pretty healthy too, you’ll love this easy Tuna Melt recipe! You will start with Flatout Hungry Girl Foldit Flatbread, we used their Rosemary & Olive Oil flavor. Open and strain a can of chunk light tuna (oil or water packed, based on taste preference). Mix mayonnaise in with the tuna. Then, spread the tuna onto one side of the Foldit Flatbread. Top the tuna with a slice of cheddar cheese. Then, just fold over the top of the Foldit Flatbread and pop in your toaster oven. You’ll toast the sandwich on the “Toast” setting for 5-7 minutes until cheese is melted.

My kids were so excited for their tuna sandwich (their favorite type of sandwiches!) and they were having fun pretending that they were “eating” the sandwich from their reflections off the toaster oven window. It was too fun of a picture not to share! I wasn’t sure how well the flatbread would go over, as my kids hadn’t tried flatbread before. They weren’t so sure either, but once they tried it, and we pointed out how the flatbread had NO crust, they happily gobbled down their Tuna Melt! This is such an easy lunch to prepare as it is just four ingredients and you can quickly assemble the sandwiches and then pop them in the toaster oven while you finish up the rest of your meal prep.

Some Like It Cold: Turkey, Bacon, Ranch Sandwich

The Turkey, Bacon, Ranch sandwich was very easy to make, too, always a requirement in this busy household! Start with a Flatout Hungry Girl Foldit Flatbread, I used 100% Whole Wheat with Flax for this recipe. Pile on a bunch of thinly sliced turkey lunch meat or save this recipe idea for using up leftover Thanksgiving turkey! Next, add on a piece of cheese, I used swiss cheese. Finally, add two pieces of bacon. You can use leftover bacon you cooked earlier for breakfast, substitute in real bacon bits, or just pop a few slices of bacon in the microwave to heat to make this step really quick. Spread a spoonful of Ranch dressing on the top half of the Foldit Flatbread and then close your sandwich and enjoy!

My hot sandwich was inspired by a Turkey, Bacon, Ranch wrap I enjoy once in a while at Arby’s. I hardly ever head there since it’s pretty expensive so I was excited to try out something similar made at home that was much less expensive. It turned out delicious and I’ve made this easy sandwich a couple times since! It really makes for a quick and easy lunch that has lots of flavor, some crunch with the crispy slices of bacon, and a whole bunch of protein!

I would make a Foldit Flatbread Chicken Parm Hot Sandwich by adding one grilled chicken breast, Ragu sauce, mozzarella cheese, and a dash of salt.

I'd use the wheat flax to make a sandwich with turkey, swiss cheese, avocado, and hummus.
