Cars 2 races into theaters today!!! Here is the official synopsis…
Star race car Lightning McQueen and the incomparable tow truck Mater take their friendship to exciting new places in Cars 2 when they head overseas to compete in the first-ever World Grand Prix to determine the world’s fastest car. But the road to the championship is filled with plenty of potholes, detours and hilarious surprises when Mater gets caught up in an intriguing adventure of his own: international espionage. Torn between assisting Lightning McQueen in the high-profile race and towing the line in a top-secret spy mission, Mater’s action-packed journey leads him on an explosive chase through the streets of Japan and Europe, trailed by his friends and watched by the whole world. Adding to the fast-paced fun is a colorful new all-car cast that includes secret agents, menacing villains and international racing competitors.
After having extremely high expectations for every new Disney Pixar movie, Cars 2 definitely did NOT disappoint! I took my 7-year-old and I’m not sure who liked it more. It was non-stop action from start to finish! He enjoyed Mater’s hilarious antics, the intense racing, and huge explosions. I enjoyed the humor (Jeff Gordon was Jeff Gorvette, Darrell Waltrip was Darrell Cartrip), the 3D effects and the very clever storyline. I was afraid that my girls wouldn’t like it as much as my boys, but after seeing it, I will be taking them this weekend! They will love the new car, Holley Shiftwell, and they have always been Sally fans. Disney Pixar, once again, raises the bar with Cars 2 by creating a family movie that adults will love just as much as their kids.
