Crayola is going green this back-to-school by using solar power, reducing waste, and protecting the rain forest! Crayola Green 24-ct Crayons are being made from solar power! They have 26,200 solar panels set up specifically to power the production of 1 million out of their total of 3 million crayons Crayola makes each year! Crayola’s Green Colored Pencils are being made from reforested wood and for each tree used a new tree of the same species is planted. Crayola is going green in their markers as well using recycled bottle caps! The markers have black shells instead of white to allow for use of recycled plastic and will keep hundreds of tons of plastic bottles out of the landfills each year! The best part of all – they support of the environment isn’t going to cost you any more then their other lines of products! What a great way to go a little more green and still keep the great high quality products you are used to!
I received a “Green Back-to-School Essentials” prize pack from Crayola to review which included: Crayola Green Markers, Crayola Green Crayons, and Crayola Green Colored Pencils. I didn’t notice any difference in quality at all in fact all the products colored beautiful! The only difference I really noticed was the marker tubes being black instead of white, but that was really even fun to have a bit of a change up and certainly didn’t affect their quality!
