Chocolate Pudding Trifle

Ingredients:

Start by making our Homemade Chocolate Pudding recipe, or make a box pudding mix. You’ll need to allow time for your pudding to cool and set before beginning your trifle.

Coarsely chop your favorite candy bar to use as topping for your treat. Try Twix, Snickers, Reese’s, or Milky Way candy bars. You’ll use about 1/2 a candy bar or 1-2 mini candy bars, depending on your serving size.

Cut your angel food cake into approximately 1/2″ cubes. I just use store bought angel food cake, but you could make this step as well.

Now you’re ready to assemble your chocolate pudding trifle! Start with angel food cake at the bottom of a fun dish, bowl, or cup. I like using tall and skinny cups because it gives just enough dessert and makes a beautiful presentation for layering.

Next,, layer with chocolate pudding using a spoon to scoop in the pudding. Layer with cool whip after your pudding. Try to carefully add these layers to avoid hitting the side of your dish to keep your presentation clean and beautiful. Top your trifle with your chopped candy bits. You can also make smaller layers and add two rounds of layers adding your candy bits just to the top layer.

My kids always really enjoy this yummy treat. We often mix up the candy bar topping letting everyone pick their own favorite topping and even adding it themselves when they want to help.

When would you serve this Chocolate Pudding Trifle?
