Casio PRIZM Graphing Calculator Review

A Mom's Take Back to School Shopping Guide and Event!

Casio America Inc., introduces it’s newest graphing calculator, the PRIZM fx-CG10.  This brand new calculator combines form, function, style and substance in one amazing product!  Some of the features include:

  • High-resolution color LCD with full textbook-style display
  • Picture Plot enables learning from real-life pictures
  • Multitude of functions that leverage the color LCD

What sets the Casio PRIZM apart from the rest is that it allows the student or teacher to create their own graphs over pictures of real-life scenes.  This allows for better understanding of the functions and makes learning the complexities of mathematics fun!

I remember being in eighth grade and having to get a graphing calculator.  They were so expensive, didn’t have color, and were really confusing.  The new PRIZM totally changed my opinion!  The buttons are bigger and easier to push, the color screen is really cool, and you are able to incorporate real-life landmarks instead of just looking at a black and grey arch.  Here is what my eighth grader thought of the Casio PRIZM….

The PRIZM graphing calculator that I received from Casio is amazing! It pretty much has everything that I need for school. It has color which makes it easy to define between two different data sets. It has all of the types of graphs that I need….line graphs, pie graphs, financial charts, geometry, and much more! At first it can be confusing, but after experimenting with it, it is extremely useful! This calculator would be great for anyone, but especially for students in Algebra 1 or higher. I can’t wait to see what Casio
comes out with next!

From July – September Casio will be running a back-to-school promotion the PRIZM can be purchased for as little as $99.00, and it comes with a customized SKIN!  Available at Wal-Mart, Office Max, Target, Office Depot, Staples and Best Buy

Disclosure: I received the Casio PRIZM for free in order to try the product and form an opinion for this review. I was not compensated in any other manner. The opinions expressed above are my own.
