Rock of Ages” tells the story of small town girl Sherrie and city boy Drew, who meet on the Sunset Strip while pursuing their Hollywood dreams. Their rock ’n’ roll romance is told through the heart-pounding hits of Def Leppard, Joan Jett, Journey, Foreigner, Bon Jovi, Night Ranger, REO Speedwagon, Pat Benatar, Twisted Sister, Poison, Whitesnake, and more.

“I Remember When…” Feature

Here are just a few of the many 80′s styles we love and miss!  Answer the question on the Rafflecopter at the bottom of the post and let us know what styles you remember from the 80′s!

I remember jean jackets and huge bows!

I remember teasing my hair until it hit the top of my car!

I remember guys thinking that their greasy, long hair was rad!

I remember thick bandanas and animal print jackets!

I remember shoulder pads and matching suits!

I remember seeing the previews to Rock of Ages and adding it to my must-see list.  I wasn’t able to see it in the theater and was counting the days for the Blu-ray and DVD release!  The day it arrived in the mail, I canceled my plans for the night so I could watch it with my husband. From the opening scene on the bus to the final performance I was hooked!  I love 80′s rock music just as much as I do musicals and this was the perfect combination!  I was born in 1981 and my dad had music playing (on records and tapes) for as long as I can remember!  I recognized every single song and was so impressed with the mash-ups!  Juke Box Hero / I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll, and We Built This City / We’re Not Gonna Take It were my two favorites.  I downloaded the entire soundtrack right after the movie ended and my kids have now fallen in love with these classic 80′s songs!  I would recommend this movie to anyone who loves the 80′s, rock ‘n’ roll, and great movies!

Rock of Ages Blu-ray Combo is rated PG-13 and can be purchased on the WBshop or your favorite retailer for $29.95

  • Sadie Heldberg

I remember when I ripped the shoulder pads out of every
jacket I owned, since I wanted to look like a girl and not a football player
lol. The 80’s were definitely some of the best years of my life, and sometimes
I can catch the whiff of a memory that’s so real I can smell the aqua net in my
hair. I was focused on being a rock legend, so every rock star film that comes
around tends to move me just a tad. I’ve been good
about not reading too much of the story, so I don’t spoil it for myself, and coworkers
of mine from DISH have said that this is exactly the type of movie I love.
    My passion for buying movies is sweet and sour like the drama behind the camera;
I love the smell of a new Blu-ray, it’s an addicting, but expensive habit. The
decision to start renting from Blockbuster @Home has given me the freedom to
save a lot of money, but the best part is that I’ve tripled the amount of
movies I can afford to watch in a month.

I remember getting curly perms so that I could get my straight hair to be big and defy gravity. I also remember shoulder pads…I loved them, even though others have a major dislike for them. I think they help frame the body and cover a multitude of issues. Anyway, that was the look and I really love the 80′s fashions.
