I am not the world’s greatest crafter. I wish I were, but I’m not. In fact, the less free reign I have with creativity on a craft project, the better. I like step by step instructions. And I like simple. Fortunately for me, my husband happens to think I’m highly talented when it comes to all things craft and sewing (can we say biased?), so he makes me feel pretty dang good about myself! :)
I absolutely love holidays and seasons. And I love the decor that comes with them. But I also don’t want anything too overwhelming. This craft is easy, inexpensive, and oh-so-cute. I have had many-a-compliment about this simple “Home for the Holidays” craft, as I like to call it. It simply is the word “Home” using various shapes as the ‘O’ for each month. The possibilities are endless! October? A pumpkin! February – a heart. August – the sun. So easy to come up with a corresponding shape for a month.
If you don’t have your own tools and/or aren’t into cutting your own wood supplies (me!), there are plenty of places around that sell wood crafts and letters ready to paint.
What you’ll need:
- Wood letters H, M, & E
- Paint Brushes
- Paint
- Various holiday wood cut-outs
- Possibly a hot glue gun
- Any other cute embellishments you could possibly want
