Vicks has introduced a neat Starry Night Cool Moisture humidifier that combines the functions of a Cool Mist humidifying along with a nightlight that can be used with or without running the humidifier. The nightlight rotates colors and projects stars onto the walls and ceiling creating a nice gentle light that isn’t overly bright. This humidifier comes with two speed settings, “Max” that gives a high amount of moisture and mist and a “Sleep Mode” that runs a lower speed of fan with less noise. It isn’t a silent humidifier, but the sleep mode setting is pretty quite and the max mode is good for those little ones that like the white noise to help them sleep. The tank was extremely easy to fill and even fits in our small bathroom sink! The Starry Night Cool Moisture humidifier also has a scent pod that you can fill with replaceable scent pods that remind me a bit of Vicks Vapor rub. This is a non-medicated scent, but it does give off the same scent that I’ve come to associate exclusively to Vicks Vapor rub which can’t be used with young children but is a very soothing scent when you are sick. You will have to replace the filter and scent pod every few months but overall this is still a really nice humidifier.
I have tried many different kinds of thermometers and I’m always impressed at how they can come up with an even easier way to take a child’s temperature. I have used oral, anal, temporal scanners, in the ear kinds of thermometers and was thrilled to try Vicks new Behind Ear thermometer. It is the quickest and easiest to use with the least disruption for the sick child from all the styles I have tried. You just place the thermometer behind your child’s ear and press and hold the button located on the back. The thermometer takes one second to read and will beep when ready. Once it beeps, the temperature reading will hold on the screen for 10 seconds, displayed with a countdown timer, and then you can take another reading, if needed. There are no confusing buttons and it was so simple to use! The Behind Ear thermometer is clinically proven to provide an accurate reading, too, so I don’t have to work about the taking a bunch of different readings for accuracy. I highly recommend this thermometer!
