As You Wish… Rob Reiner’s Fan Favorite Fairy Tale Celebrates Silver Anniversary; the 25th Anniversary Blu-ray Edition Debuts October 2 from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment!

Scale the cliffs of insanity, battle rodents of unusual size, face torture in the pit of despair, and join Princess Buttercup and Westley on their spell-binding journey to find true love when The Princess Bride 25th Anniversary Blu-ray debuts October 2 from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. A classic fairy tale complete with heroes, villains, trickery, mockery and death-defying miracles, The Princess Bride captured audiences young and old with its brilliant, memorable dialogue, enchanting story line and bewitching characters.

From celebrated director Rob Reiner (The Bucket List) and Oscar®-winning screenwriter William Goldman (Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid) comes “an enchanting fantasy” (Time) filled with adventure, romance and plenty of “good-hearted fun” (Roger Ebert). Featuring a spectacular cast that includes Robin Wright (Forrest Gump), Cary Elwes (No Strings Attached), Mandy Patinkin (“Homeland”) and Billy Crystal (Tooth Fairy), this wonderful fairy tale about a Princess named Buttercup and her beloved is “a real dream of a movie” (People).

The Princess Bride 25th Anniversary Blu-ray is loaded with special features including the all-new featurette “True Love: The Princess Bride Phenomenon” which includes brand new interviews with Reiner, Elwes, Wright, Goldman, Christopher Guest (For Your Consideration), Chris Sarandon (Fright Night) and executive producer Norman Lear.

Movie Adaptations of Fantasy Books Feature

In this timeless film, a grandfather narrates the story by means of telling a classic fairy
tale to his young grandson upon his bedtime. Although he is forced into listening at
first, the boy ultimately becomes invested in the story and loves it just as much as his
grandfather! This feature will explore some of our other favorite children’s books that
have been made into equally engaging movies, such as Percy Jackson, Where The Wild
Things Are, and Fantastic Mr. Fox.

The Harry Potter Series

All of these books and films have taken over the universe leaving consumers desperate
for another taste of Harry’s adventures in witchcraft and wizardry!

Where The Wild Things Are

In this classic story that was turned into a visually stunning film in 2009, Max sets sail
to find a world of happiness but instead he is faced with terrifying creatures quadruple
his size is both height and width. It is here that he finds his newfound friendship and
personal significance on the island.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe

These films that makes the dream of riding alongside the courageous and glorious Aslan
about as real as its going to get. We’ve all wanted to be friends with a lion at least once
in our lives, oh how I envy Peter, Susie, Edmund and Lucy.

Charlie and The Chocolate Factory

Roald Dahl and Tim Burton, come together to bring this outlandish story to life on the
big screen. With one of the world’s greatest children writers and one of the film industry
greatest creative masterminds at the helm of this project, a film such as this is bound to
get everyone licking wallpaper for a taste of the magic.

Percy Jackson and The Olympians: The Lightening Thief

Just as utterly engaging as the book. The film totally encapsulates the magic of Percy
Jackson’s encounters with the gods of Mount Olympus. Embarking on a worldly
adventure with his friends Percy battles against the fuming wraths of the gods, whilst
falling in love with the beautiful Annabeth in the aim on saving his mother – BRILLIANT!

Fantastic Mr. Fox

Yet another demonstration of Wes Anderson’s sheer brilliance! With the aid of
international superstars such as George Clooney and Meryl Streep and combining them
with the innovative use of foxy stop motion animation it undoubtedly provides the film
never ending appeal.

The Princess Bride 25th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray is available for purchase on October 2 2012.  You can pre-order through Amazon for $19.99.  It is rated PG.

This is my favorite movie! My husband always said “as you wish” to me! We were married on October 12, 2002. On October 12, 2007, he suffered a heart attack. He lived for a month as we waited for a heart transplant … It never came… To me, since this is ending on October 12 it is my darling husbands way of saying that “Death cannot stop true love. All it can do is delay it for a while.” my favorite line!!
