Songs of My Life . . . Slightly Out of Tune speaks to a generation of women and men over the age of 40 who are dealing with life’s challenges, both big and small. Susan Dintino writes about love, marriage, family, aging, health scares, parenting, and staying relevant and excited about what life has to offer. Her message is one of hope, and her conclusion is that we’re all trying to do our best, and it’s better if we can do so with a smile. Susan offers gentle advice, the kind that comes from a lifetime of experience: What should you do if your spouse loves to give you the silent treatment? How do you conquer your own fears in order to be “cool enough” to your kids during a European school trip? How do you interact with a terminally ill sibling and deal with the regrets of not spending enough time with each other? How can you make sure that you’re a good mate, parent, and person?

This book shows you that life is like a song. You learn the words, but that’s not the end, because the tune can change at any time. Susan shares her journey in such a way that you’ll smile, tear up, wince, and nod your head in time to her song, because all of us are the same: We’re slightly out of tune, too.

Songs Of My Life…Slightly Out Of Tune is a refreshing new book that turns life’s everyday occurrences into hilarious, heartwarming stories!  No matter how hard I try I never seem to be a good enough mother, wife, or friend.  This book helped me to realize that life is a blessing, even with all the bumps along the way.  My favorite chapter was “Don’t Worry Be Happy”.  I have always been a worrier, like most moms, and after reading this chapter Susan has really helped me think about my fears more rationally instead of getting worked up about nothing!  The story about her trip to Europe with her daughter was hilarious!  I love how she explained her fear of flying and how she was able to manage it.  I hope that someday I can experience a trip like that with one of my children!  I think I am going to have to let my mom borrow this book!  She has had a fear of bridges her entire life and I really think Susan’s advice would help! This book was full of fantastic stories that most women can relate to.  Each chapter tackles one of life’s many mishaps and teaches coping methods that would be helpful to any reader.  I would recommend this book to women of any age!

Songs Of My Life…Slightly Out Of Tune can be purchased on Amazon, and Barnes & Noble.  It is published by Hay House, Inc. and is 138 pages long.

About Ashleigh

Ashleigh is a mom of five children ages 4-14. She loves to keep active by running, playing volleyball, P90X and chasing her kids around! She also enjoys Bunko, playing and teaching piano, cooking, ping-pong, getting packages, watching Netflix, and trying out new stuff! She loves being a mom and sometimes feels like a 12-year-old kid when she gets to try out new toys and games with her kiddos :)
