Dr. Toy 100 Best Children’s Products 2012
The National Parenting Center • Fall 2012 Seal of Approval Winner
What could be more precious than glancing in the back seat to see a sleeping tyke? As parents, we’d do anything not to wake them up! But if you’ve ever noticed the sleeping positions they must endure in a car seat or booster seat, you have the urge to straighten their head and maybe push a pillow (if there was one) by their squished ear. A group of parents had the same conversation and came up with an ingenious new product called SeatPets. These adorable and cuddly monster seat mates attach to seatbelts and offer more than just a soft spot. Three toy industry tough-to-impress critics — Dr. Toy, The National Parenting Center and Creative Child — gave SeatPets two thumbs up. A simple concept, fitted fabric covers for vehicle seat belts, goes five steps further and provides an incentive for kids to buckle up . Not only do they offer a soft resting place but are designed with three pockets and two zippered compartments to store their car ride stuff. Moms no longer have to stop or reach around to offer a snack, juice box, toy or ear buds because they are already stowed in their SeatPets. The brand new plush travel toy is available in three monster styles –Whish, Awty (Are We There Yet) and Airheart.
My son picked out the Airheart style and was so excited when it came! Since he is still in preschool, he is in the car with me all the time dropping off and picking up his older siblings for school. Usually on the way home in the afternoon he falls asleep. Most of the time he is either bent over onto his legs or his head hangs completely off the side! I have no idea how he sleeps like that, but it can’t be comfortable! The SeatPet has been so nice for him! He doesn’t whine anymore about putting the belt across his chest and he has somewhere to lay his head when he does feel like nodding off. He also loves storing toys and snacks in the little pockets! His cars fit perfectly in them and they don’t end up on the floor. We have a couple long trips coming up this holiday season so I may have to get a couple more for my girls! SeatPets were the perfect solution for my son and his unwillingness to take a nap anywhere but in the car…now he can at least be comfortable! I would recommend this great, new product to anyone with kiddos ages 4 and up!
SeatPets can be purchased here for $19.99! They are great for ages 3 and up. There are three different styles to choose from.
