Nielsen-Massey Vanillas have been creating the finest vanilla for over 100 years!  They have always been, and still are, a family-owned operation and are now run by the third generation of Nielsens.  They know everything there possibly is to know about vanilla…it’s flavor, scent, and how to use this fine product in applications and recipes.  Whether is is being added to a tradition cookie recipe or used for something elaborate, Nielsen-Massey will make sure that you are getting the purest product available!  Their products are available throughout the world and are often used by bakery and restaurant chefs.

I love spending time in the kitchen cooking and baking.  I will find just about any reason to bake a cake or make a batch of cookies!  First day of school?  Second week of school?  Early out day?  I will find any excuse!  So at midnight I decided to try one of the delicious recipes in the Nielsen-Massey cookbook!  I choose to celebrate making it through a long, hard day (and still working out for an hour) by making a batch of Caramel Corn!  I have always purchased generic vanilla because I thought it didn’t really matter, but after trying the Nielsen-Massey Vanilla, I will never go back!  It is SO worth the price and I could actually taste the difference.  The recipe in the book called for a teaspoon, but I added a little more just to make sure I could taste it!  It really brought out the flavor of the caramel and, with the salt, gave it just the right mix of salty and sweet.  I realize baking the caramel corn in the oven while exercising kind of defeats the purpose, but it was totally worth it!  I went through the whole cookbook and found all different uses for vanilla that I had never thought of!  I had no idea that it could be used for main dishes like fish and pork.  I can’t wait to try out a few more recipes!  Until then, I have to finish my third bowl of caramel corn made with Nielsen-Massey Vanilla!

    i love a really good vanilla, so the mexican pure vanilla is the one for me, i love the smoothness almost caramely taste it gives as opposed to the madagascar vanillas. thanks!!
