I had the fun opportunity to do a sponsored shopping trip on behalf of Nestle! What better way to have a summer get together than with Tombstone Pizza and Nestle Ice Cream for dessert! I am all about the simple meals to prepare and very minimal clean-up needed so this was right up my alley! My boys absolutely love pizza so I knew they would be thrilled, too. I headed off to my local Walmart to purchase the party supplies and check out what kind of varieties were available. I started by picking up some general groceries I needed including all the “regulars” bread, eggs, milk, etc, and also an assortment of baking goods as I am a pregnant mama with some cravings! As I made my way towards the back of the store and the freezer aisles, I came to the ice cream section first! I found a full freezer panel dedicated to Nestle Drumstick varieties!
My Walmart had their 8-pack Cookie Dipped Drumstick variety on rollback pricing about .50c off and these happen to be my favorite, so it was simple to decide. I picked up a box and continued on to find the pizzas. My Walmart location had moved their pizza aisle and I was surprised to find nearly an entire half an aisle dedicated to pizzas! Tombstone Pizza had a full freezer panel of different varieties and a few we had never tried before.
I picked up our “usual”, a Tombstone Original Pepperoni & Sausage and an Original Supreme. Then, I had to try a few of their new varieties as well so I picked up a Tombstone Double Top Supreme pizza which boasts double the toppings and a Garlic Crust Pepperoni as well. Since I already made my way to the back of the store at this point, I was ready to head to the check-out.
My cashier was very friendly and chatty but completely confused at why I would be taking pictures of groceries on a conveyer belt. Taking pictures of the everyday randomness of my life has become “normal” for me as a blogger, but it was funny trying to explain that I would be sharing about my pizza party on my blog.
When party time came, we started by heating up the two pepperoni varieties first since I knew those would be the kids would want to eat. I had to sample the Garlic Crust pepperoni, though, as I had not tried this variety before. It had a mild hint of garlic throughout every bite, not just the edge of the crust like I had expected, and was pretty good! I liked that it was a bit thicker crust, also.
Next up I popped the two supreme pizzas into the oven. Above you can see a comparison of the original and the Double Top pizzas before they were cooked. The Double Top really does have WAY more toppings! Both of the supreme pizzas were really delicious and while my husband always went for the double toppings, I really liked both! It seemed as though the Double Top was the men’s favorite and the ladies finished off the Original Tombstone Supreme pizza. After a delicious meal, I pulled out the box of Drumstick ice cream cones and everyone enjoyed a cone! Our guest really enjoyed the cookie dipped variety as well.
We had a great time getting together with our friends and spending a nice weekend evening enjoying their company, a meal, and some dominoes. To me, summer fun is all about good food and good times so get togethers are a must! I loved the relaxing feel of a get together that DIDN’T need hours of prep time and literally needed just minutes for clean-up. This made for a party that allowed me to sit back and relax and enjoy my company instead of feeling the need to rush around with cooking, cleaning, and grabbing some forgotten ingredient or side dish. All we added in was a simple salad and a bag of chips and dinner was served!
