The Talking George Giraffe has been a huge hit with my 21 month old who plays with him every time he goes into his room. He has already learned the songs and will “play” along by performing his own interpretation of the actions like “munching” the apple when that part comes along which you can kind of see in the lower left picture above. He loves rocking along and listening to all the different songs and stories that are triggered by the 4 included accessories. This rocking animal is really nice quality and built well that I know he will last for a long time to come. He’s also absolutely adorable! There are some things I don’t love, though. While the included accessories for interacting with Talking George Giraffe are really neat I don’t like that the only things he says when not playing with the accessories is to ask for your child to find one of the accessories to listen to a story or song. I would prefer that he would play a random assortment of the songs and stories, even without the accessories being used. Often, my little one will climb on him and listen to him without any of the toys in his mouth. I also feel concerned that if the accessories were lost, he wouldn’t be very interactive anymore. He is certainly cute and will work just fine without the talking aspect, but it seems a waste to not have an “auto-play” option. I also don’t like that the front pouch is removable. It comes off with two small velcro circles which means it is very easy for my kids to remove it which means another thing that can easily be lost and hard to replace. Other than these two aspects (my fear of losing things!) this rocking giraffe is adorable and has provided countless hours of fun! My youngest plays with him daily!
