“Energizer is partnering with Habitat for Humanity to help spread positivity by revitalizing communities across America. Together, we can make our planet a better place.”

Energizer is teaming up with Habitat for Humanity to spread positivity throughout communities. By donating more than $300,000 and 1,000 volunteer hours through a series of volunteer projects, Energizer and Habitat for Humanity will help families and neighborhoods across the country.  The partnership kicks off in Joplin, MO, where a tornado devastated the entire community one year ago. After helping out in Joplin the next stop was Phoenix, AZ.   Together, Energizer and Habitat for Humanity will continue helping to make a positive impact on the world. Through a series of local projects, volunteer efforts will focus around building homes and Habitat for Humanity’s new Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative (NRI), which is committed to supporting communities beyond building new homes by expanding to existing home rehabilitation, weatherization and energy-efficiency projects. Now that’s positivenergy!

I was able to participate in this great cause with Energizer and Habitat for Humanity a few weeks ago by helping restore a house and park in downtown Phoenix.  It ended up being one of the highlights of my year!  I never thought that shoveling rock for more than two hours could be fun!  I met so many fantastic, selfless people who were donating their own time to help out someone in need.  It was such a great feeling to work together with such amazing people to get the job done.  Cal Ripken, Jr. even joined in and helped us shovel rock and fix a ramada in the park!  They couldn’t have picked a better person to represent positive energy!   We ended up getting done way ahead of schedule only because of the hard work and determination of the leaders and volunteers that rarely took a break even though it was almost 100 degrees outside!  I will never forget the feeling of accomplishment when we finished.  It was priceless and so much more rewarding than being paid!  I am excited to work with Habitat for Humanity again and hope that we can all find ways in our life to give back and promote “positive energy”.

Here is a little more about Cal Ripken, Jr. and what role he has in this campaign…

Hall of Famer Cal Ripken, Jr. swings for the fences with Energizer. Through the “that’s positivenergy” campaign, the All-Star partnership will spread positivity by participating in a series of Habitat for Humanity® projects in neighborhoods in need throughout the country.  Cal has long been committed to making a positive impact through his work with the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation, which works to develop character in young people through baseball-themed programs including bringing baseball fields and youth development parks into communities.
