I remember when Planet Earth first came out on television, we would all sit down together as a family and watch.  Then we would have to wait a whole week for the next episode!  I was so excited to watch Planet Earth all over again plus check out Blue Planet and Frozen Planet which I had never seen.  My kids are fascinated with nature shows and couldn’t wait to watch them with me.  Everything, from the way they capture never before seen footage of these amazing animals, to the vast scenery, was beautiful!  What better way to celebrate Earth Day then to see what gorgeous things our planet has to offer!  We watched the entire Frozen Planet in a couple of days and it was so eye opening!  I had no idea that there was so much life on the icecaps and can’t imagine how difficult it must have been to film there with such extreme conditions.  My favorite part was watching the killer whales come together to create huge waves in order to knock their “lunch” off one of the icebergs and then try the same thing with the camera crew.  It was so interesting and I could not believe how smart they were!  My kids loved the polar bears and the penguins.  They were kind of upset when the “daddy polar bear” got hurt and the “mommy” didn’t help.  I tried to explain to them why the two males were fighting over the female, but I think they might be a little young for that!  Everyone in my family absolutely loved Frozen Planet and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to learn more about the world we live in!

Frozen Planet can be purchased on Amazon and retails for $39.98.  It includes the entire series on three DVDs.
