Learning Resources offers great educational tools that make learning engaging and fun! They have items for every category including science! I’ve worked with my boys a lot in teaching them Math and English skills but Science is much harder for me to really venture into teaching them beyond some basic skills with cooking. Learning Resources recently released a science learning set that I knew my boys and I would both have so much fun with! The Primary Science Magnet Set includes 10 total magnets in a variety of shapes, 10 activity cards, and 4 additional pieces for completing some of the activities. This set is geared for children ages 4-12.

Magnet Science Review

We had so much fun playing with the Primary Science Magnet Set and even my 3 and 1.5 year old boys were thoroughly interested and wanted to try all the activities with us. We started with the ladybug maze where you use one magnet below the maze and try to guide him through using the magnet. We came back to this game later and “hid” magnets in the maze that the ladybug had to “find” and collect to while moving through the race. Next, we used the bar magnets below the two plastic cars and made the cars spin and  repel from each other and then “crash” into each other when the magnets would attract. Then, my son discovered the round ring magnets that would slide onto the pole magnet and that he could make them float and actually jump and spring off the end of the post because the magnet pull to repel away from each other was so strong! We then pulled out paper clips and tested how many clips each of the magnets could hold up. The included activity cards give lots of great suggestions but we easily came up with more or adaptations to the suggestions as well for even more play. This set was an absolute hit with my boys!

You can find the Primary Science Magnet Set through Learning Resource as well as on Amazon. The set retails for $29.99.
