Real Steel will be released on January 24th, 2012!
Film Synopsis: Balancing gritty action and emotional heart, “Real Steel” is an inspiring and visually stunning film that takes audiences on an action-packed journey. Washed-up boxer Charlie Kenton (Hugh Jackman) scrapes by as a small-time robot-fight promoter as he tries to make a comeback. Against all odds he eventually succeeds—at least in the eyes of his son Max (Dakota Goyo). “Real Steel” is spectacular family entertainment that will have everyone cheering again and again.

Real Steel was the #1 film in theaters for 2 consecutive weeks and I heard lots of great feedback about this film so I was really excited to get to check out the film myself! We put this movie in for a fun at home date night for me and my husband. I was hooked from the first few minutes and really enjoyed the whole film! It was intense and nail-biting at parts and had you rooting from your seat! While I originally thought this might be more of a “guy” movie, it had a touching storyline throughout along with some great action and boxing scenes that made it a great hit for both me and my husband! I really loved the robot Noisy Boy, he was a beautiful robot, and I was sad when he lost a fight and was out of the show. None of the robots could compare with Atom though, a robot with heart and willing to get up and never quit fighting. We both got really excited with Charlie Kenton started training Atom to fight despite his initial reservations about the robot’s abilities. This is a film you won’t want to miss!! One reported is quoted as saying, “It’s Rocky with robots…” (Pete Hammond, Box Office Magazine), and I totally agree!

You can also find some great bonus features not seen in theater! On the DVD disc you’ll find a feature on “Making of Metal Valley” and “Building the Bots” as well as bloopers. The Blu-ray disc included in both the 2 and 3-disc packs includes Real Steel Second Screen, deleted and extended scenes, “Countdown to the Fight – The Charlie Kenton Story” and “Sugar Ray Leonard: Cornerman’s Champ” features.
Real Steel is rated PG-13 and has a running time of 127 minutes. It is available on Blu-ray and DVD as well as On-Demand. Check out this trailer of Real Steel for a preview of the film!
