Grado Labs is one of the oldest family owned and operated companies in the Audio Industry. They have been in business for over half a century and have become leaders in design engineering for the high-end audio and recording industries. The hold over 48 patents for their remarkable headphone and phono cartridge designs! In fact, the founder, Joseph Grado, is the inventor of the stereo moving coil phono cartridge and was inducted into the Audio Hall of Fame in 1982 for his success and innovations! Grado Labs headphones are made in the USA and have remained a small family operated business.
I received a pair of Grado Labs SR125i Headphones. These headphones are extremely comfortable. The are almost a blend between on-the-ear and over-the-ear headphone designs. The foam cups are large and fully cover your ear like an over-the-ear style, but they don’t have a thick outer rim that can eventually become uncomfortable. The band is very easy to adjust and is also comfortable to wear. You will need a converter to use these headphones with a standard size jack on mp3 players and the like. I purchased a Grado Labs Mini Adaptor on amazon for $15 as I will be primarily using these headphones with my computer. These headphones have a long and thick cord that lets you move a bit when you need and will be very durable.

I have never owned any high quality headphones so I wasn’t sure how they might differ. I started up some music and was instantly swept away with the music! Everything was so clear and made me feel like I was really experiencing the music, not just listening along. Instead of the music coming through “flat” like one combined sound, for once I heard music as a combination of all these different instruments, voices, and elements all being introduced throughout the songs. Each of the different aspects behind a song really came out clear and separate making it so enjoyable to really listen to the music, and not just sign along with the lyrics. The SR125i Headphones gave me a whole new experience with music that I’ve never really experienced! I’m extremely happy with these headphones!
