ThinkGeek for New Year’s Resolutions! Review & Giveaway

ThinkGeek truly has something for every occasion and need! I was thinking about my New Year’s Resolutions and easily found great products that made my resolutions and goals for the new year seem that make me that much more “gung-ho” to get started! This upcoming New Year I am focusing my goals on eating healthier and improving my home cooking skills. My husband is a fabulous cook so most the time he’ll do the cooking around home but with his job now he travels which means I’m often on my own and easily get stuck thinking okay let’s just do Macaroni or Chicken Nuggets like the kids want anyways instead of making a nice healthy meal for my family. To help with my goals, I was able to review a few of ThinkGeek’s awesome items!

Their Perfect Portions Nutrition Scale will make calorie counting and healthy eating a WHOLE lot easier! This scale not only works like a traditional food scale to weigh and portion your foods but also shows you nutritional information from their built-in database of nearly 2000 foods! Plus, you can customize the scale by adding up to 99 custom foods that you frequently consume that may not be listed. Then, you can select your food from the database, enter the food code and then the nutrition facts are adjusted based on the weight of your portion size and displayed in a simple to read format! This food scale is really easy to use and it really has made it fun to learn about food and calories! I’m looking forward to learning more and figuring out what are good foods that can make a quick, easy, and yummy snack that aren’t loaded with calories!

Their Chef’s Quad-Timer lets you track timers for all four of your stove top burners, or anything else you may need to time. It is specifically set up to be perfect for keeping track of your burners though with an indicator light for each of your 4 burners to correspond with the timer set. You can quickly see which time has run out by the blinking red light on the face of the timer so there is no need to be flipping back and forth between timers and creating a hectic kitchen! Each timer can be set for as little as a minute and up to 24 hours. The timer also displays the time of day to be dual-purposed when not in use as a timer. While we don’t often have all 4 burners cooking at once, we use 2-3 burners at the same time pretty often for making meals like pasta with chicken in a frying pan, noodles boiling, and a sauce simmering and suddenly things get hectic! Before this timer all we had was our microwave timer which isn’t so helpful if you’re using the microwave at all for cooking! The Chef’s Quad-Timer has been really easy to use and has come in handy for keeping cooking times under control making my life just that much easier!

You can find more great items for your New Year’s Resolutions, or just for all around fun geek-geared products through ThinkGeek!
