I started our financial makeover in August when I finally picked up the book The Total Money Makeover my father-in-law had sent to us probably about 8 months earlier. As I started reading the book I got so fired up and ready to got and we hopped right on the bandwagon and started changing our lives! We used to live paycheck to paycheck with every increase in salary disappearing to a new car loan or other new debt. I wouldn’t say we lived extravagantly and we don’t have a ton of debt, in fact we started our financial makeover without any credit card debt. We do owe on student loans and a car loan as well. Now, we scrap and save and pour everything we can into getting out of debt! We will be completely debt free in less than 2 years if we can keep up our momentum! While I loved reading The Total Money Makeover, I wanted more!

My husband switched jobs about 6 months ago and his new company does not offer discounted insurance for spouse or children.
